4Life™ Treated Shelters are the finest selection of overlay shelters Forest has produced. They come in various designs and dimensions, all meticulously crafted and constructed in the United Kingdom. This particular one is the 8×6 Double Entry Apex Shelter with 4 Panes (2.42m x 1.99m), providing premium outdoor storage in most garden sizes.
Treated Timber with a 4Life™ Guarantee
This timber shelter is treated to resist decay and supported by an exceptional 25-year anti-decay warranty, the lengthiest warranty available. The timber will never require re-treatment, saving time and money. You’ll only need one shelter with a 4Life™ Shelter!
Completely Modular Structure
Now featuring an enhanced fully modular structure, this garden shelter is delivered in smaller sections of interchangeable panels, making assembly much simpler compared to most timber shelters. This modular design also provides a leading array of door and window positioning options, allowing customization to meet specific needs. With 30% more framing than standard timber shelters, this 8×6 shelter is not only easy to assemble and flexible, but also incredibly sturdy.
Walls, Base, and Roof
The walls are constructed from 7mm overlay cladding, ensuring effective drainage of rainwater and allowing the timber to naturally expand and contract with the seasons. Unlike many other overlay shelters, the panels have straight edges, giving them a more sophisticated look.
The base, made of 14mm solid timber, is 40% thicker than standard shelter flooring and includes treated supports for added defense against ground moisture.
The roof consists of 8mm solid sheet material, reinforced by a metal truss bracket, and furnished with a premium mineral-felt covering for comprehensive weather resistance. The apex design, smooth-planed barge boards, and appealing finials provide the final touches to an exceptionally stylish exterior.
A Secure Shelter
The dual entryways can be positioned in various ways and feature double-Z bracing for additional durability and to prevent warping. Discreet security hinges and a hasp & staple plate keep valuable equipment secure (lock not provided). The 4 PET-glazed panes allow ample natural light into the shelter. They are made from recyclable materials, completely shatterproof, and resistant to fading or discoloration from sunlight. An elevated roofline offers ample headroom and expands garden storage possibilities.

Shelter Base Options
Wooden Shelter Base Kit
An expedient, economical DIY alternative to laying concrete or slabs, this wooden shelter base features a framework made from UC4 incised timber that is pressure treated. The pressure treatment ensures the framework’s longevity and resistance to decay for up to 15 years.
Base dimensions: 7.5cm (h) x 236cm (w) x 182.6cm (d)
Plastic Shelter Base Kit
Quick and uncomplicated to set up, the 8×6 plastic shelter base kit is perfect for eliminating the hassle of laying concrete or slabs when preparing a base for a new shelter. Its interlocking construction simplifies assembly and, despite its light weight, offers a durable and strong foundation for the shelter. Crafted from 100% recycled plastic, this base is eco-friendly and can be reused if the shelter is relocated. The base promotes ventilation and drainage underneath the shelter, aiding in keeping the shelter floor dry.
To install the base, simply interlock the square grids and place them on a level, firm ground. We suggest using 15kg of 10mm pea gravel per square (gravel not included). Each square measures 500 x 500 x 40mm. This kit includes 20 squares and heavy-duty, commercial-grade weed membrane.
Please note that we do not assemble plastic shelter bases as part of our installation service. A useful installation video for this plastic shelter base can be found here. You must prepare the base based on the provided instructions before the installers’ visit. Placing the base directly on grass is not recommended, and the installers will not be able to build your garden structure.
